DNA Bomb

DNA bombs. Microimplants which code to your DNA. On detonation, they disrupt the foundations of your genetic code, melting your DNA. Fast and nasty and outlawed in every civilised galaxy.
— The Doctor
A DNA bomb is an illicit technology which has been developed independently across the universe. The design used by the Stenza is kept under strict military control on par with the Crash Base (with added measures to prevent pups from even getting close to them). The small implant reads the DNA of the person into whom it has been injected, and when detonated it explodes into a substance which denatures it and everything else in the victim, to painful effect.

Utility

The Stenza DNA bomb was originally developed as a suicide pill, and for a while soldiers carried it as part of their kits in case they were captured by enemy forces, to avoid giving away crucial information. However, a scandal broke out in 2283 when it was revealed by a whistleblower that a First Officer was using the bombs issued to his unit as a means to torture suspected spies and dissidents of the state. The allegations initiated a major investigation, which ultimately found the charges to be grounded. The Droghi Council had the officer executed, and DNA bombs were banned from the kits of soldiers, instead kept under lock and key.   T'zim-Sha attempted to use the DNA bombs in order to eliminate witnesses during his attempt to cheat at the Leadership Challenge, and had in fact stolen several for this purpose and injected bombs into five known individuals. Fortunately, they had been able to remove the bombs. Unfortunately, the bombs had been transferred to T'zim-Sha, resulting in severe injuries to him.
Access & Availability
DNA bombs are illegal in "every civilized galaxy" as the Doctor had mentioned, due to their extreme effects on the individual subjected to them. Therefore, the Stenza keep them as a closely guarded military secret, more closely guarded than even the artifacts at Crash Base.

Yikes, these sound really nasty. No wonder they're outlawed.

They could kill you if you don't get immediate help.
