Sunrise

Sunrise in and around the Ice Flats has been held in high esteem for as long as the Collective Knowledge can recall (it is even believed to have influenced the perception that Jeshra/the Snow Warrior is as much a child of Iradae and Lan'tha as the Stenza themselves). Stenza mark the occasion with festivities and the suspension of most other activities (one notable exception being the maintenance of the network of check stations that protect Mudewei from errant asteroids and misguided starships), as well as use it as the start of their civil calendar..

Manifestation

In most places, on Mudewei and elsewhere, sunrise is a daily phenomenon, and not always remarked upon unless it coincides with some other holiday like a solstice. However, in the band of the planet's surface which contains the Ice Flats, sunrise is an annual affair and begins a period known as the daylight season (Stenza also use sunrise as the official start of their calendar year).
Due to the way Iradae and Lan'tha orbit around each other, either one could rise first on any given year, or both in tandem. However, festivities do not truly begin until both stars are visible.
(Stenza may encounter twilight or daylight in various forms on other planets, out hunting, or during migration, but treat these occasions with somewhat more ambivalence; theologically, sunrise on another world is a matter between its denizens and the god the sun represents, but this doesn't stop some Stenza from being judgmental about whether it is received respectfully enough.)
