Weapons Technician
Career
Qualifications
In order to work specifically with a ship's heavy weapons, an individual Stenza must first become a citizen, followed by a period of military training in a wide variety of weapons. This has the purpose of laying a good foundation on concepts in Stenza weapon design as well as teaching the idea of respecting dangerous pieces of technology.
Career Progression
Following a training period in the military, an individual joins a team of established technicians headed by a foreperson, who is responsible for their training aboard that specific vessel, with the team's usual maintenance route. Individuals can then cross-train in other machinery aboard the vessel, with the sole exception of engines (engines have highly specific needs which require full-time engine technicians to manage). A technician with enough experience becomes a foreperson for a team of their own.
Perception
Purpose
Weapons technicians maintain a ship's weapons and, in some cases, other heavy machinery (such as the Salvage Claw). Many cross-train in other sorts of machinery, although engines are frequently off limits due to their highly specialized requirements.
