Mundus

Mundus is a world that has a large number of interdimensional gates that lead into the spirit world Exylia. These gates have connected the powerful magical creatures of Exylia to the weaker creatures of Mundus since the planet's birth. This exposure has caused magical mutations to take place on living creatures, inanimate objects and entire swaths of Mundus' lands.   In Mundus, the races of the world had struggled against all manner of magical monsters as they eke ou a relatively peaceful existence amidst the chaos.   Meanwhile the creatures of Exylia, known in Mundus as the Fey, are either unaware or indifferent to the plights caused in the mundane planet by their presence outside their dimension.   The races of Mundus joined forces in an attempt to destroy as many Fey as they could after many thousands of years of succumbing to the effects of their existence on the planet. It was then that the Fey took heed of Mundus and its people, and thus began the Fey Wars which lasted hundreds of years. WIth no clear victory in sight, the Alliance of Mundus negotiated with the Fey leaders for a cease-fire. And so the Great Armistice between Mundus and Exylia was forged: the Occuria and the Espers would control the area where the Fey roam the world of Mundus, and the Alliance of Mundus would try to keep its own members and other mundane creatures from entering these areas to the best of their abilities.   For hundreds of years, despite minor conflicts with Fey that didn't agree with the terms of the truce, the Great Armistice kept peace in place for both the Fey and the Mundane... until the Mist Empire attacked.
