Quill of Dictation

The +1 pen is mightier than the sword

There are many powerful things in this world, but there is not one thing more powerful than the ability to write. Quills of dictation were one of the first mass produced magic items available, and its not hard to see why: simple enchantment, useful tool, tons of new people interested in magic... the point makes itself clear. The quills are useful in all walks of life whether you're the ambassador to Ordus or you're a simple low class citizen of The Free Coast who never learned to read or write but wants to keep up in a world of swiftly advancing magi-tech.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

As an action you can activate this quill to begin writing everything you say. You must be the last person to have touched the quill in order to activate this power and it will write only what you say. You also must provide the quill with ink and parchment in order for it to write. The moment it runs out of clean paper on a page, the quill stops writing and must be activated again.   Depending on the quality of the quill you will get differing handwriting quality, the more elegant the quill the more calligraphic, the more plain the quill the more plain the handwriting. This usually isnt based off the looks of the quill but the enchantment as a elegant quill is more likely to be enchanted alone and with more personal touch than a batch of regular mass produced quills.

Manufacturing process

A dictation quill requires runes to be lightly etched into the stem of the feather before it is enchanted. Enchantment time varies with the price of the feather, materials used, and batch size if you are mass producing quills.
