Mining involves the process of extracting ores or gems from a vein or a similar source. The minded goods are then refined into ingots or cut to be used for the crafting of other equipment.
The process
Mining & Refining Ores
When mining for ores you require a
pickaxe. If the vein to be mined can't be easily detected, you need to make an Intelligence (Nature) check. Once you have found a vein, you can deplete it from ore by mining for 2 hours and successfully making a Strength 'Saving Throw'. If a 'D' is found behind the material, it is a Dexterity Check instead of a Strength check. If you have knowledge of how to mine the material, you can add your proficiency bonus to the roll as well.
The DC for the check is 12 + the ore's DC. If you successfully make the check, you gain
2d4 + your Constitution Modifier in ores. 5 ores can be processed into an ingot at a Smelting oven. Depending on the ore type, a different smelting oven may be required (a lava source is for instance required to smelt Durium ore into an ingot). Below the values of the ores are found. It should be noted that indicated prices don't have to be the buying/selling price of the ingot/good. This is purely meant as the indication to be used for
Smithing.

Gathering & Cutting Gems
Gathering gems requires 'Gem Extraction Tools' (worth 25 gp). To obtain the material you must mine at the 'vein' for 2 hours and succeed on a Dexterity check against the DC. If successful, the DM decides how many gems you retrieve. The table below does not include all gems present in Mundus, but records most of them.
