Travelling to Ban Grond

Riches of the Troll King

After defeating the Troll King, the adventurers take a good look at the king's treasure room. They find the following items here:

• The Maul of Magic Missiles
• 300 gp
• A diamond worth 200 gp hidden behind a loose stone in the wall
• Boots of Elvenkind
• Scroll of Homing Soul Mass

Digging through their piles of treasure, they decide to return to Ban Grond, taking a similar path to before.

Travels through the jungle

During the adventurers' travels through the jungle, little to no exciting things occur. Although some spend time drawing maps of the islands, others use their spare time to brew some strong alcoholic beverages, while another uses the time to decipher the newly acquainted spell scroll. After a few nights filled with mosquitoes, Oswald Fleetfeet even catching a fever, the adventurers return to Ban Grond to report to Zulk the Wise.

Off-time in the City

Discussions with Zulk

The adventurers return to Zulk to report their success. Zulk awards the adventurers as promised with 200 gp, and starts a game of question-asking and answering. Overwhelmed with the options, the adventurers ask for short descriptions about locations earlier mentioned or discovered to them. In the end they strike the topic of the "Red Armors" inhabiting the Conflux Mountain for something more than a year now. Zulk is not at all too fond of their presence, but their aggressiveness has restrained him from taking any real actions. As their former ambassador Gnel is now dead, he is wondering about the Red Armors motivation and such. He agrees with the adventurers to reward them for any information they can bring to Zulk's ears. As such, the adventurers decide their next destination will be the Purple Plains and its majestic Conflux Mountain.

Taking care of Business

As it was too late for the adventurers to travel to Gnel's Hold the same day, they decided to stay for the day in the city. Balin Thornbow goes to the local market operated by Kobolds and orders a custom-made tigerskin cloak for himself. As this costs 2 days (including this one) to be processed, the adventurers decide to stay for a bit longer in town. Meanwhile Tristan Zabaleta starts looking for some fine meat for his new friend Fusd. During his travels he encounters Sjoerd, the goblin wolf owner, with some of his bugbear buddies. After exchanging a bit of spit with one another, Tristan continues his way to the rest of the party. Returning there, they remember obtaining an old Dwarven Scripture and decide to give it another go.

In search of the Stormguard Stash

After attempting to decipher the riddles on the scripture, the adventurers start scanning the map of Ban Grond in the hope of finding any old dwarven buildings. Eventually they stumble upon a large defensive tower located in the territories of Aard. As the structure is guarded, they decide it best to sneak into the building, Oswald casting an Invisibility spell on Balin. Balin proceeds to scan the ruins, finding some interesting writing and indications that this used to be an outpost of the Stormguard. After entering a locked away attic, Balin is left unsatisfied as he only finds an instrument to watch the stars. With his invisibility haven worn off, he decides to remove part of the attic's ceiling, crawl onto the roof and make a run for it. He is caught by a bugbear but persuades him he just delivered some beer kegs to them. The adventurers decide to cling on the one clue they have, namely the river and decide to follow it up into the mountains first thing in the morning.

The Healthiest Kind of Water

After walking for around an hour beside the river, Oswald's "Geest Uil" spots an interesting looking Dwarven Well. The adventurers decide to investigate to stumble upon a particularly decorated stone in the same yard. They decide to move it aside, to uncover some rusted equipment and a Stormguard Crossbow. Balin claims the Magic Item, dubbing it Rosslin. As Balin could only pick up his custom-ordered Tiger cloak tomorrow morning, the adventurers decide to stay in Ban Grond for another day. With little to do for them, they decide to turn to the arena where they show-off their new found combat prowess.
