MacTavish Orchards

MacTavish Orchards is the major supplier of fruit in the Munson area tended to by Celia Hooker, who does so with care and enthusiasm. The grounds support a wide variety of fruit that grow in the area, though they are most well known for their apples.   Acres upon acres of orchards run along the northwestern bank of the Erie Canal seemingly extending to the horizon. Tourists who come to pick apples will often find themselves lost in the endless, uniform rows of trees, sometimes emerging in the fields or farmland to the west and southwest instead of returning back to their point of departure.

Uncanny Occurrence

Over the past year, about once a month, a disaster falls upon the farmland around MacTavish Orchards. Livestock have gone missing or their carcasses found mauled and half-eaten. At first the hunters couldn't find a trace of what was stalking the animals, but then the hunters themselves went missing.   While every farmer knows they'll lose some of their stock to wild animals, what's most concerning is that the problem seems to be growing, with each attack accounting for more lost hogs and cows than the last. And when it's your neighbor that doesn't come back, the problem has well and truly gotten out of hand.
