The Second Welsh War of Independence

The second Welsh War of Independence   Led by the disgruntled Welsh lord Owain of Glyndyfrdwy, known as Owain Glyndwr.   Consisting of the Battles of Mynydd Hyddgen, Tuthill, Bryn Glas, Shrewsbury, Stalling Down, Grosmont and Pwll Melyn and culminating in the battle of Shrewsbury and the forming of the new Brythonic Tripartite with Glyndwr gaining all of Wales and lands beyond as his domain and the reduced remainder of England be shared between his allies (Mortimer & Percy?).   Aided by his trusty Generals Rhys Gethin, Maredudd ap Rhys Ddu (Lord of Glyn Rhondda) and Ednyfed and Gwilym ap Tudur of Anglesey. Glyndwr swept through the Welsh countryside, destroying all English Royal resistance in his path.   At Mynydd Hyddgen, Glyndwr's vastly outnumbered but nimbler force (Pony mounted bowmen and light troops) were able to outmaneuver the heavier armed English cavalry. Beginning on the lower ground at the base of Hyddgen, Glyndwr's forces circled the cumbersome English knights and led them onto the marshier lower ground where they were swiftly torn from their horses and slaughtered. Glyndwr himself was present at the Battle, which was fought in retaliation for the confiscation of a portion of his lands by his Baronial neighbour.   Glyndwr's forces were estimated to number between 120 - 500 with few casualties sustained while the English force numbered approximately 1500 and suffered 200 casualties and saw many more captured.   At the Battle of Tuthill....   At Bryn Glas.....   At the first Battle of Shrewsbury....   TheBattle of Stalling Down began.....   Arriving at Grosmont....   Beside Pwll Melyn.....   The showdown at Shrewsbury.....   Relationship between Henry Percy, Edmund Mortimer and Owain Glyndwr breaks down after a few years as Edmund faces attacks from the Scots. Only Owain heeded the call and sent troops North while Edmund Mortimer. Lot more support from the French to Owain's war effort.
