Personal history

Winner of the 113th Hunger Games. Agda was sixteen when she was chosen as the female tribute for District 9, along with a boy named Ishmael. The boy who loved her. And she loved him.
There were a flurry of starcrossed storylines pushed during the PR tour for the pair of young lovers. They were sincere through the whole ordeal, devastated but determined to spend as much time together as they could before the end.
During the games, Ishmael & Agda stuck together, hiding from the stronger tributes, surviving the perils of their arena. For a time their strategy seemed to be working.
Near the end of the game, on a desperate hunt away from their shelter to seek water and supplies, they were discovered and chased by a gang of surviving careers.
A nerve gas trap was set off during the chase, killing the cadre of their pursuers, and separating the two. Agda ran and hid, shaken and disoriented. Sounds of a pursuers drove her to defend herself, and before she could come to her senses, she lashed out and attacked.
Ishamel was stabbed through the heart and died instantly.
And then the canons rang out.
Agda had won. The the moment she returned to civilization, the publicity teams began to weave a dramatic tale of cunning and betrayal. The truth was that this girl had been stringing Ishmael along since the games started. The truth was that she had seen his weakness, and knew he wasn't worthy of winning the games for their district. The truth nearly drove her mad.
Agda closed herself off from all visitors, mourning the boy she loved and had brutally slain. When it became clear that she was incosolable, she was trotted out for her victory gala nearly by force.
At the gala, the president themself, presented her with a gift: A himan skull, guilded in gold with an ornate crown. A trophy, the president said, from her cunning, well-earned victory.

Mental Trauma

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO: She puts on the show of being a conniving antihero, only because she has no choice. She is a pariah in her home district, as the Capitol villified her in order to ease the pain of the tragic death of a teenage love. Her beau's parents don't speak to her, she lives alone in the Victor's neighborhood.
Agda would be left to her own devices, left to rot away back in the district, if she weren't the only living district 9 winner. And so she attends the games every year, putting on the show, publically being the villain while privately supporting and teaching her tributes the hard lesson that the only way to survive is to play the game from the moment their name is drawn.
