Dietbold Heimer
Dietbold came from the South as a young man to gain fame and fortune. Giving up on the gold fields he turned to fighting. He was successful as a member of a mercenary band that served the Baron of Ludensheim. These warriors spent several years in service to BARON FESTUS SELVAR.
In 1188 Festus, as was typical, refused to pay them for a campaign into the Blacktooth Ridge fighting Orcs. These men knew that the Baron was a corrupt ruler, but they went their way. Some left the area, but Dietbold stayed, and shortly thereafter came upon an amazing axe that improved his fortunes at war, a great axe that he used to gain enough acclaim in the area that some of the leaders of Ludensheim including IMGARD PIFNOR the Chief Prelate of Ludensheim approached him asking that he rid them of their cruel baron and replace him on the seat.
In 1191 he did just that. In a coup that lead to the people rejoicing Dietbold killed Festus and was proclaimed Baron by Imgard. He has ruled since then ably and justly. Though it is evident that he would like to expand the size and influence of his realm.
