Hill Dwarves:

The Hill Dwarves of Myriadon are a robust and hearty people, often characterized by their stocky build and ruddy complexions. With a natural affinity for the earth, they have, for centuries, made their homes in the grassy knolls and rolling landscapes of the region. Their settlements, often blending seamlessly with the hills, are a network of tunnels and chambers adorned with intricate carvings reflecting their love for artistry. Etherstone, with its warm glow and steady burn, has been their preferred energy source for eons. They're known for their communal way of life, hospitality, and deep-rooted traditions.

Mountain Dwarves:

The Mountain Dwarves, by contrast, are even sturdier in stature, their features sharpened by the crisp mountain air and challenging terrains. Their homes are deep within the mountains, where they've created vast cities, illuminated by the gentle light of the Etherstone. Revered for their unparalleled skill in metallurgy and stonecraft, they often produce weapons, armor, and artifacts of exceptional quality. Their stoic nature and disciplined life are evident in their societal structures, with clans and families often led by matriarchs or patriarchs.

And Then Things Were Different:

The fuel-rich and explosive properties of Etherstone discovered by Dalrin Boulderblast changed the trajectory of both dwarf kinds. What was once a revered mineral, symbolizing the heart of their civilizations, quickly became a contested resource, as Lord Tormand saw its explosive potential and the lucrative prospects it held. Initially, the dwarves were indispensable to Tormand's ambitions. However, with the advent of Arcanatech, machines soon replaced manual labor, and the dwarves were viewed as impediments to Tormand's grand plans.   Their ancestral homes, deeply intertwined with their identities and histories, were not spared either. As Lord Tormand's operations expanded, these sacred sites were demolished, erasing centuries of history and tradition. The dwarves, once the guardians of Etherstone, were now displaced and marginalized, struggling to reclaim their dignity and lost heritage.
