Ko (kˈo͡ʊ)
A tiny gecko-like lizard native to the island of Phi. Their strategy to survival is interesting. The Ko themselves have no special abilities, except for their reproduction rate. Unlike anything seen on Phi, they mate extremely quickly, and their litter size is large. That alone would make the Ko a big presence in the ecosystem. However, there is a native species of fungi called the Feratu Fungus, which latches on to small creatures. This fungus will often grow on a Ko, giving it a toxic layer on it’s skin. In return, the fungi get nutrients from the Ko. This symbiotic relationship has made the Ko a terrible pest in Phi. Boats are triple checked before they leave Phi to make sure no stowaways destroy the mainland.
