The Specterail

A Deathly Design

The small town of Kaiyr was desolate as can be during the peak of undead terror in Malora. Kaiyr's proximity to the dangerous wilds created a near ghost town where the city streets were wrought with spirits. When Phantastasis began to clear the streets of Kaiyr, more people migrated in and the city began populating rapidly due to its proximity to valuable spectrite and ghost specimens. The growth of the city soon outpaced its lackluster development. An innovative design for public infrastucture was made and began construction in 464. A phantom powered railway was the first of many spectral infrastructure projects in Malora. The people soon dubbed this The Specterail.

Harnessing Fear

During the early 400s, most of the Maloran public lived in isolation and fear because of the rampant siege from the waves of undead. Cowering from their harsh reality, the people became weak to face the threats causing them to hide. However, the introduction of Phantastasis began a social revolution in how spirits were viewed. By seeing your greatest fear bottled up as fuel, you gain a sort of confidence unlike any Maloran had seen before. The complete construction of the Specterail of Kaiyr in 466 marked the moment a change was observed in the morale of Kaiyr citizens. A public transportation system powered by what the public feared most, it served as a symbol of adaptability, and resourcefulness. Hope was reborn. Futility was an idea of the past, and the strong will now associated with the Maloran people rose in popularity.

Power Generation

The Specterail is powered by a combined estimated ~500 souls captured in a torus like chamber of spectrite. The spirits revolve around the center to generate rotational force.

Propulsion

Using the rotation from the spectral engine, a 4 bar linkage attached to the spectrite chamber pushes into pistons that turn the wheels of the tram.
