The Trial Under the Mountain Report
General Summary
Wargraff joins the meeting of the ruby lords to inform them that he is volenteering to do the trial. They are all for that, but can't decide who else should go. There is a long drawn out argument about it and after we follow an insane old dwarf as he is locked in the meeting room and tries to find his way home ending up trapping one of the other lords in a pit.
The next day at the trial Umbra is brought in and we discover a fun little tradition of dwarven trials: whenever the lords are irritated, or just plain feel like it, they can order one of the guards to hit the prisoner over the head with a maul.
The trial is much like the meeting, disjointed and irritated while the annoyed lords proclaim Umbra guilty and sentence him to death. Then Wargraff butts in and invokes an ancient traditon that will save umbra's life, but that all the dwarven Lords agree is worse then death and will dishonor umbra and his family.

Notes
Volk-shaul is the ancient dwarven tradition of endentured servatude, but in modern times they use the Leuthian slave ritual which bonds the 'slave' to their 'master'.
