The Alchemists, Ancient People of the Stars

The most ancient of all the races, next to the Dragla, the Alchemists disappeared from this world thousands of years ago, long before the First Age. In their wake they left behind many of their highly advanced technological devices, all of them powered by Mystia. We call these devices artefacts today. These artefacts have been warred over for hundreds of years since their discovery in the Second Age. Many believe they were left behind by accident, in the Alchemists' haste to leave this world at the onset of a religious war. Others believe they were left behind intentionally for us to find.   Whatever happened to the Alchemists has been debated over for centuries. The truth will be revealed in Generation 2, as the Alchemists return to protect us from a plague that they caused incidentally: the Gola.   Millenia before the First Age, in a time when humans and other races were just starting out, the Alchemists were at the forefront of technology and science. Particularly, the study of Mystia. But when their views on Mystia, upon the science and how it should be used, conflicted with the religious views of humans, a conflict between science and religion raged on for decades.   When it became apparent that a peaceful solution would never be reached, and that this conflict would only result in war, the Alchemists left, leaving behind a promise to return upon the day whence humans and other races grow up and learn to live together in peace. But that day is a long way off.   It is thought that some Alchemists evolved to beings of energy, eventually ascending to the Divine and the Abyss, and that others simply went to a world on the far side of the multiverse, sealing the shadow gate behind them, and scattering the symbol stones used to activate it to the far corners of the world.   In Generation 2, as city states left behind in the wake of the collapse of the Allied Nations, and an ancient enemy begins to move once more in the shadows of Gothica, the Alchemists return to finish off some unfinished business. . .   Upon their return they begin to rally together the forces of the city states of the continents of Almahna, Highwind, and Olympus, or at least those they believe will listen. They also bring in the president of the nation of Atlantea, which continues to retain a fully formed government based on democracy. At the start of this unprecedented meeting of nations, they present a warning: the Gola are moving to strike. Their forces will touch land on all of the continents within a week. As the city states of the once great Allied Nations continue to fight amongst each other, the Gola have begun to build their forces, preparing to attack and take back lands they believe rightfully belong to them.   The Alchemists feel largely responsible for the very existence of the Gola, and they will do all in their power to protect all the people of Terr'ahna from this demonic plague. However, they require the assistance of the people. They require the people to put their differences aside and to work together toward a common goal, to defeat and send back a common enemy.   Who the Alchemists were and what they looked like remains at most a mystery, and at least, a debate. It is known they were highly advanced, possessing technology that people of this age could only dream of. It is said in many mythologies that the Alchemists were a people that came from the stars, that they came here from a place far away.   There was a tribal people in a largely unexplored area of Almahna called the Land of the Ancients. These people possessed incredible abilities, looked much like humans, only their skin was pale blue and their eyes glowed of a blue hue. They were thought to have been direct descendants of the Alchemists. However, they were all murdered by the megalomaniacal Evilon when he unleashed a weapon which destroyed the Land of the Ancients and several surrounding villages.   In Generation 2, a secret is discovered which will blow away everything we thought we knew about the Alchemists, and everything the Alchemists too thought they knew of themselves. A bloodline. But not just any bloodline. The union of Alchemist and Magician bloodlines. However, any such union in ancient times was forbidden, even sacrilegious.   Later it is discovered that Kairine Kamuya and her family line was also of this bloodline, and it is suggested that this correlated in Frahna's powers in Rainbow Mystia. It is worth noting, that while there have been other Time Magicians in the past, Frahna's power in this magic far exceeded anything ever seen before. And her understanding of the magic seemed to accelerate with time. Her father too had a similar talent, having mastered the Pyro Ball spell in less than two days, a spell which normally takes other trainees months to master. Kairine's sister, Izumi, mastered the Million Pyro Ball spell in less than a month, which such a spell takes others years to even learn.   These incidents suggest that people of this mysterious bloodline have a deeper understanding of the workings of magic than either Alchemists or Magicians alone. Such may explain the Sechi Legion's interest in Kairine, her sister Izumi, her son Hyokune, and even her grand daughter Frahna. Imagine, training an army in weeks rather than years.
