Dragonstone
It is hard for you foreigners to understand the significance of dragonstone, coming from a shore where there is none. It is sacred to us, for it is the resting place of the Great Dragons of the past. It is holy ground to us, and those who set foot upon it will be struck down for their insolence. For the Dragons are not dead; one day they will rise from their long rest, and the land will be filled with fire and smoke as they take up their rightful place above the Great Spirits of the land. Until then, we leave them to their sleep, and we bow to them when we come upon them unawares, wishing them a long rest and bidding them grant us safe passage upon our way.

History & Usage
Cultural Significance and Usage
Dragonstone is sacred ground to the tribes of Eladrid. They consider it the resting place of the Great Dragons, and will not set foot on it under any circumstances. They believe that if you set foot upon Dragonstone you will be struck down for your insolence and disrespect. When a hunter comes upon Dragonstone they bow low, wishing the Dragons a long rest, and asking them for safe travel. In Eladrid mythology, the Dragons will one day return to rule over the great spirits, filling the land around their resting places with fire and smoke, and the Dragonstone is placed there as both a marker of their presence, and a warning to mortals to stay away for their own safety.
