Gnomes

Gnomes are a small race of humanoids that have prospered through natural intelligence and ingenuity. Gnomes are distinctly divided into two subgroups: forest gnomes and rock gnomes. The forest gnomes are only found in the Sadestia region, and are significantly smaller, only standing at 2-3 feet in height on average, and are extreme isolationists, to the extent that nearby communities often regard them as myths or folk tales. Rock gnomes formed early societies at the bases of various mountains, and have as such integrated into mortal society more (though they still tend to be quite eccentric and occasionally somewhat isolationist).

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Gnomes are a relatively long-lived species, and can live up to 300 years. However, they reach maturity at about the age of 30, which has allowed for greater integration of rock gnomes into human culture.

Ecology and Habitats

The forest gnomes of Sadestia are said to be unable to survive outside of their cold woodland forests, though no scholars have had the opportunity to prove this on record. Rock gnomes are adaptable to a variety of climates and temperatures, but are fairly sensitive to bright lights, and trend towards semi-nocturnal lifestyles as a result.
