Sanine
Although it's the capital of the San kingdom, Sanine doesn't get a lot of tourism. Quite a run-down city if you ask me, despite the grand palace in the middle - San people don't seem to be very good at maintenance unless by royal mandate. Nothing like the Teshan kingdom, my home, where everything is kept in beautiful repair - the streets sparkle in the sunshine there, and the walls of the houses are pristine. The only reason one would really travel to Sanine is to purchase a Sanine pen - in this, I admit, they excel even the Teshanians. Sanine pens are the staple for spellwriters Mythia over - the Inkflow they have is unmatched, and even with lesser pigments they create more than serviceable documents. The penmakers of Sanine occupy a whole street of workshops, and this street is the most crowded of all the city - traders and spellwriters alike flock to purchase pens and quills from the various craftsmen. On the odd occasion you may even see a Spellslinger Coterie come to refresh their supplies.

Demographics
Sanine is the capital of the San kingdom, and as such has a high proportion of the wealthy living in it. The royal family lives in the palace at the heart of Sanine, as do many other major nobles. The buildings around the palace complex house more minor nobles, and then outside this group lie the commoners and craftsmen intermingled. Many people in Sanine are very wealthy, even the commoners and the poor being better off than usual.
Government
Sanine is run by a group of nobles appointed by the ruler of the San kingdom. They reside permanently in the city and deal with all the affairs that come with the running of the city.
Defences
Sanine has two walls, an inner wall around the palace and an outer wall around the rest of the city. These are interspersed with lockable gates that are guarded all day every day.
Industry & Trade
The most prominent trading industry in Sanine is that of the craft of penmaking. Saninian pens are revered around Mythia for their superior quality and durability, and many flock to the city to purchase a pen or quill from one of the craftsmen who line Sanine's Pencrafter Lane. The craftsmen there sell renewable pens and quills alike, and all have a quality superior to nearly every other workshop. Sanine is the destination of choice for spellwriters and professional calligraphers alike due to the nature of their pens.
Sanine also has more mundane affairs, including those typical to large cities such as farming,
Guilds and Factions
Sanine contains the headquarters of many of the guilds of San and outposts of many of the major Mythian guilds. Perhaps the most prominent guild in Sanine is that of the Spellwriters Guild, who take a keen interest in the activities of the pencrafters of Sanine.
History
Sanine was established in the year 110 and designated the official San capital. As time went on it grew into a moderately prosperous city. In the year 250, the famous pencrafter Za established the first workshop in Sanine and the city quickly began to attract other craftsmen who wanted to learn from or work with Za, and the Pencrafter Lane began to expand throughout the city. Sanine's economy boomed for about 40 years, before starting a slow decline as its non-pencrafting industries died out in the capital and moved to outlying settlements.
Architecture
Sanine's palace is ornate, painted in gold and with columns of purest marble holding up many of its blue tiled ceilings. The houses all share a similar blue tiling for their roofs, and those in good repair are painted in white or varnished to show the colour of the wood. However, many houses are becoming more and more rundown and some show clear signs of wear and tear on the walls. New architecture is often no more than shacks, and the disparity between the inner and outer city is clear.
Geography
Sanine is situated next to a large lake in the middle of the San kingdom territory.
