Karatsu

Karatsu itself is a small but bustling trading town that sees visitors from Korea and China. It is home to around a thousand fishermen and merchants, and trade is conducted from the harbor between the foreigners and interior clans and farmers. Erizawa tax collectors can be exceedingly strict, but more often than not fair, and the town prospers as a result. Citrus and rice come from the interior to the shore, while fishing and some minor whaling bring in food and goods from the sea.   Karatsu Castle overlooks the harbor and sits on a high point overlooking the mouth of the Matsuura River and Karatsu Bay. It is a small castle, but well built and fortified, and has been home to the Erizawa Clan for around a century.
