Clonio Athenaeum

The Clonio Athenaeum is run by Chairman Zangrim Wagglefern and is the largest library in the world. It has 2 floors, the ground floor is open access to the public and contains common knowledge, while the second floor is a restricted section containing more dangerous knowledge. The restricted section is only accessible to Chairmen, the Governor, members of the royal family, the police chief, the Law Master or those with special permission from one of the already mentioned. The library offers to make transcriptions, translations, and spell scrolls for a fee based on the following tables. The Athenaeum also has an extensive collection of public records and scholarly research. It is also home to the private collections of many intellectual circles. It has private studies that can be rented by the hour (5gp/hr) as well as a common area for light reading. Finally, it has a large observatory on its roof which contains the most accurate star map in the world.

The Restricted Section

The stairs to the Restricted Section are behind a locked door near the main desk as it contains all manner of forbidden knowledge ranging from spells to weapons to potions, etc. The door is outfitted with a simple enigma lock, making it exceptionally difficult to pick. This means the only reliable means of opening the door is with the key, which is on the belt of the lead librarian, chairman Zangrim Wagglefern.

The Restricted Section is broken up into 7 different subsections in order to find things more easily. The subsections are as follows:
