General Summary

Xaverie and Gurat are summoned to the docks to guide newcomers to their free housing as mandated by Governor Victor Bentley. In the group they were assigned was Vaision and Claudia. After brief introductions, the group set out on the trip to the shit shacks. Meanwhile, Kit was making his daily rounds of scavenging when he ran into a woman who looked lost. He decided she was an easy target and tried to pick pocket her using his invisible mage hand. The woman, who he would later learn is named Sparrow, noticed and attempted to flee. Before she could, the two were stopped by Goregon and some of his buddies. At this moment, the other group was walking down the same street and they were all cornered as Goregon was trying to recruit new members to his gang, The Black Smoke. A battle ensued, leading Goregon and some of his fellow gang members to flee, 3 gang members dead in the streets, and another passed out. When the dust had finally settled, a police officer inquired about the incident and Gurat was able to use his position as a detective at the police station to keep the party out of trouble. The gang member that was passed out was arrested by the police officer, who informed them that there was a bounty for Goregon's capture (200 Gold Alive : 50 Gold Dead). The group agreed to come together with the intention of catching Goregon and claiming the bounty, then went to find Sparrow, who had fled the first moment she could. They found her in a nearby alley in the form of a wolf. Xaverie offered for the group to stay at her mansion and, after some convincing, persuaded Sparrow to join them. The party was about to leave for Xaverie's mansion, named Tremont Manor, but were intercepted by a man with a tentacle for an arm. The man introduced himself as Shiro and ushered them into his store; Tantalizing Tentacle Treasures. While there, the party did some shopping; Kit bought a silver chalice; Gurat bought a flask of Hornshine and payed to open The Trove of Lost Treasures from which he received a Chime of Opening. Xaverie mentioned the bounty placed on Goregon and Shiro brought her into the back room to discuss the possibility of him getting a cut of it. While this was happening, Gurat took advantage and stole a box of purple root cigars and a bag of Crimson Crystal powder. He then barged in on their conversation and they left in a hurry. Once they arrived at Tremont manor, Xaverie proceeded to bake Sparrow a cake as it was her first day as a free individual. It was a massive, beautiful mint chocolate cake made from an old family recipe. The whole party enjoyed it before splitting off to do their own things; Xaverie, Sparrow, and Claudia went to the library to do some research about warforged, lycan bloodhunters, druid magic, and some fishing; Gurat, with Kit in tow, went to make a phone call; Vaision stood in the Gallery, admiring the artwork. Claudia took 2 books for later; "Fishing for Dummies: An Introductory Guide to Fishing" and "Jormungandr: The World Snake". While Gurat was distracted on the phone, Kit stole a deck of 52 Silver playing cards from a small locked box in the Parlor. Vaision found comfort in the fine artwork as he had seen nothing but the filth of commoners for weeks leading up to this point. Since leaving the store, Gurat had been smoking the purple root cigars (without realizing they contained purple root) and was starting to feel their effects; he had the munchies. To slake his hunger, he proceeded to eat the entirety of the leftover cake Xaverie had baked before promptly vomiting due to the massive volume he had just consumed. In an attempt to feel better he took a swig of the Hornshine he had bought and quickly passed out. The rest of the group had just walked in as he was taking his swig and, after what they saw, decided the day had been long enough and it was time to retire for the night.
