Session 34
General Summary
This session began with the party seeking out a way of resurrecting Kit, who had been killed in the previous session. Their search led them to Everclear's cemetery, inside of which they heard was a temple known for bringing back the dead. Upon entering, the party found themselves unable to leave. Thus, they pushed onward until they eventually found the temple they were looking for.
Once inside, it was clear that no one had been there in a long, long time. In front of the altar of the temple stood a lifeless construct of some kind and on the altar laid a leather-bound book with what looked like a face on it. After some investigating, the party managed to power the construct back up. It was a warforged that introduced itself as Thresh, short for Threshold. His master was the leader of the temple, at least until his death. One of his last acts was powering down Thresh as it was their belief that no one could or should live forever.
Despite this, Thresh saw no issue with resurrecting those whose life was unjustly cut short and, therefore, agreed to help the party. He attempted a resurrection ritual that ultimately failed. He then asked how Kit was killed and the party told him that he was killed by a lich. Things suddenly made sense to Thresh. As he was explaining why that mattered, Isaiah got a closer look at the book Thresh was reading from.
Immediately upon looking at its pages, Isaiah's mind snapped. He took hold of the book and began reading it intensely. When the party took notice, he began attacking them. Adam followed suit. In response, Thresh cast Banishment on Isaiah and the party managed to defeat Adam before Isaiah's return. At the sight of his dead companion, Isaiah stopped attacking and fell to the floor in grief.
After giving Isaiah some time to process, the party carried Kit and Adam's bodies out to the cemetery and buried them. This is where the session ended.
