Session 6

General Summary

The party spent the night at Theodora's condo and arose early the next morning to meet Bouncer at The Common Expanse. When they arrived, they met the mall's owner (and Bouncer's owner) Chairman Venxen Taznaar where they explained the events of the day before. The party then spent most of the day fortifying and monitoring the mall to prepare for the Black Smoke's impending attack. Much to their surprise, the mall opened and closed without incident. Once the mall closed, Police Chief Riner dismissed them and established a stakeout across the street. The party left, but not before receiving a Rocky Talkie from Bouncer just in case something went wrong. The party decided to stay in the area in case they were needed and chose to kill some time by visiting a fortune teller, who may or may not be more than she seems, and grabbed some dinner at Thai Me Up, where they discovered the longstanding sibling feud of its owner with his brother whose restaurant, To Thai For, was just across the street. Towards the end of their meal, Kit noticed a cloaked figure dashing down an alley in the direction of the mall and alerted the party, who quickly paid and chased after the figure. Due to his quick speed, Kit was able to pace the figure while the rest of the party lagged behind. Trying everything they could to stop or slow the figure without injuring them, they eventually managed to get them close enough for Kit to put them to sleep. Upon investigating the individual, they found that he was a cop carrying files meant for Riner that pertained to some kind of bomb. The party quickly woke the officer, who frantically tried to retrieve the file and be on his way. Having this newfound info, the party decided to call up Bouncer on the Rocky Talkie, but it was too late. Not long after he picked up, the party could hear a loud explosion through the rocky talkie, shortly followed by the same sound a few blocks away; the same direction as the mall.
