After a night of research and a finally a safe rest in the inn. They get a fresh start heading out to explore the city and try to track down the whereabouts of smith.
The two half-elves wake up inn a strange room. But this time it's one they paid for, after getting a restful nights sleep for the first time in a few days the group heads down to the city to try to discover what happened at Smith's office and what happened to Smith himself. Asking around the city the find out that Smith has not been since in several days and rumor around the city is he was badly injured but no one knows for sure. They head to scout out the last place Wesley had seen Smith, in his own office. It appears the office building has been almost completely cleared out with only a few scraps and some furniture left. Smith's inner office has only a desk and some chairs and a rug. The desk is badly scorched and there are burn marks on the chairs and rug. After a thorough search of the room they find a charred piece of paper beneath the desk that has part of a symbol they do not recognize. Wesley decided they should head to the library and try and find what the symbol means, while talking to the receptionist they also show her the pouch they found in the tomb, she proceeds to show them to the head librarian which does not last long. The moment his eyes land on the elven runes along the sides he gets very very excited and talking quickly about lost elvish languages and immediately ushers the two out and tells them to immediately head to the palace and meet with the Arch-mage Orgast Flameweaver. Orgast annoyingly greets the two wondering what the interruption is. He later thaws a bit to the two letting them know that that is a special find and they should be able to unlock it's secrets the longer they own it but he cannot decipher what it will do for now. Scipio would like to keep the toxins secret from Orgast but Wesley convinces Scipio to show the toxins to the Arch-mage. The reaction is immediate, he immediately takes them all from the party and interrogates them as to where they got these things and they were illegal they needed to take their bag and leave his office he cannot give this contraband to them as it is very dangerous. Facing dire consequences for his friend who appears to need the toxins Wesley confesses all that had happened. An angry Orgast give the group the toxins back for Scipio's safety since, but keeps one for himself(the party does not know) and begins to berate them for accusing a law abiding upstanding business man with absolutely no proof aside from bringing him an illegal substance they could have gotten anywhere. As the two leave there are left wondering... what next. A paranoid Scipio asks if Wesley knows where they can hide his remaining toxin... he does not know what will happen without it. The group hides the toxin behind the waterfall near Scipio's house.
