Goblins

Nimble geniuses

CobaltDM - June 25, 2022
"Second only to the Gnomes in terms of technological contributions, Goblins are surely among the brightest races in Mytkora. My most intriguing encounter with one came in the town of Griffik in Nassa. The town had begun adopting the steam-tech upgrades of Tekoril, and needed organizers and leaders who understood the technology to see its development through. The Goblin's name was Igved, and she regaled me with all the promises of a brighter tomorrow. We discussed how a new creation called a boiler would allow warm water to be ready on demand for bathing or cleaning, or how pressure systems in pipes could allow for outhouses to be eliminated. It was all quite far above my head, to be honest, but the lass had a way with words that made me feel optimistic about the state of our world." - An excerpt from "The Travels of Hafrick Moriarty"
Goblins were created by Otia roughly 500 years after the creation of Elves. They did not care much for the affairs of the gods, nor did they find society all that interesting. Instead, they spent many decades in the wilds, living off the land and learning. They became proficient in small-scale invention and banditry, until one day they were approached by Otia and shown the potential of the world. Inspired, they have begun assimilating into civilization and aiding in the advancement of technology.

Short Scoundrels

Goblins stand between 3 and 4 feet tall and have slim builds, averaging between 30 and 45 pounds on average. They have large, pointed ears that stick straight out from the sides of their heads. Their skin tends to be a shade of green, but can sometimes be brown or tan, and their hair is usually black. Goblins have a strong attraction to gold, and will often wear it in the form of piercings, rings, or other jewelry.

Clever Tricksters

Goblins built a reputation during their uncivilized era for crafty traps and ingenious ambushes that would often disorient travelers enough that no bloodshed was ever necessary. They were expert builders and tinkerers and could fashion all kinds of devices that could sew mass confusion among merchant caravans or inside shops. This proficiency played a large factor in Otia’s interest in them, and they continue to excel as inventors.
