Sea Elves

There is truth among the waves

Sea Elves were unintentionally created by Tassah when she unleashed her Staff of Wrath on the seas. They live primarily in Nassa and southern Tekoril, where they have constructed hidden communities in the shallow reefs surrounding the islands. They are generally reclusive, though some have taken to sailing and voyaging aboard merchant ships or with pirate crews. They make excellent warriors, and some settlements have adopted a more war-focused way of life since The Silence.

Appearance

Sea Elves are the most exotic in appearance among any elves. Like their Sky Elf cousins, they tend to be heavier set than the other Elves, although they are much shorter than them and average only around six feet tall. Their skin ranges from an aquatic green to various hues of blue. Their hair is usually silver or white in color, but can sometimes be a platinum blond. Their eyes have no irises and tend to be either a solid, milky white or a bright gold. When they reach adulthood, they often start taking on aspects of their environment. For example, a sea elf living in a coral reef may grow bits of bright orange or red coral from their shoulders or neck.

Aquatic Symbiosis

Tassah, despite her anger at the surface world, cared deeply for her accidental children. She developed a strong, sustainable ecosystem centered around their villages and taught them how to hunt underwater. The Sea Elves lived peacefully for centuries, but recent aggressions above the waves since the Silence have caused them to begin stepping on land much more often.

A Warrior Lifestyle

Sea Elves make strong warriors and sailors, and have begun taking over ships for their own naval uses. Believing the surface dwellers have something to do with Tassah's disappearance, the various communities have banded together under one crown with one purpose. Over the last several decades, they have begun to carve out their own territory in northeastern Nassa and will fight anyone who tries to take it from them.
