Sky Elves
Peace leads to prosperity
Sky Elves were created by Idros to help represent his values of peace, diplomacy, and spiritualism. They live in mountaintop monasteries in Atheles, Tekoril, and Isatis from which they base religious missions into civilization. They are a polite and patient people, and were widely accepted across Mytkora until The Silence. Now, they are often ignored as missionaries. Many have left the monasteries to integrate fully with society, agreeing with the popular notion that the gods have abandoned them.
Appearance
Sky Elves are very tall, most averaging over six and a half feet. They have pale skin and more rounded, human-like features than their cousins. Their heads are often shaved, but those with hair tend to have a thick red or blond color to it. They often have sturdy builds and are a bit heavier weight than a typical elf.Monastic Traditions
After their creation, Idros spent many decades instilling in them a love of peace, patience, and temperance. He separated them from the vices of the material world and taught them to ignore the temptation that will come when they leave their mountains. Sky Elves have strong values relating to these teachings, and are very persistent in trying to spread their religion to others.A Crisis of Faith
A few years after the Silence, a division occurred within the monasteries and temples. Many Sky Elves believed that Idros would return to them, but others were not so easily convinced. A great integration took place, as thousands of Sky Elves moved into cities and villages. They found work easily as manual laborers due to their size and strength. The more charismatic among them became successful merchants or diplomats. Some even enlisted in mercenary groups or armies. More have slowly made their way down the mountains over the years, and the monasteries are much emptier than they have ever been.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
