Woad Elves

The forest speaks... do you hear it?

CobaltDM - June 13, 2022
Woad Elves were created by Kebis as one of the three initial subraces of Elves. They predominantly live in Isatis, but some clans have been seen in the southern woads of Atheles. They are territorial and reclusive, and will cause conflict with neighboring towns by zealously defending their homes. They have keen senses and strong instincts, and make excellent hunters, trackers, and trappers.

Appearance

Like all Einfolk, Woad Elves are lanky and graceful, but they tend to be shorter than the other Elven subraces. They have copperish to brown skin which can sometimes have tinges of green on the face and arms. They generally have brown or black hair, but can sometimes have a red tint or chestnut color.

Stronger Together

Woad Elves have a strong family dynamic. The eldest among the clan act as the leaders, while the youngest will often be the hunters and farmers. Adults are given choices, whether they want to become an artisan, a merchant, a warrior, or some other profession, and often will venture outside the woad in their second or third century. Males and females share equal roles at all levels of the clan.

One With The Trees

Woad Elves have a deep respect for the woads they inhabit. They often perform ritualistic offerings and sacrifices to Lai'lou, Kebis, and Otia. Ceremony and tradition are strong values among the clans, but each one has their own specific practices for most events. Marriages, funerals, births, namings, and other major life events will often have week-long ceremonies attached to them.
