Aďvúrun
Aďvúrun is a ground-cover plant like grass on earth. It is found on Fohrtiil, Qarlilian, Arshilkrin, Slyrpfyrn, Xhorgliff, and Irqulnirn.
Basic Information
Anatomy
a short curly, leafy plant that produces roots through the top soil and grows close together and sometimes produces runners
Biological Traits
usually very short, grows very close together, occasionally will grow longer if it isn't getting adequate light
Genetics and Reproduction
each instance of the plant is either male or female, and when it reaches maturity it flowers accordingly, wind usually spreads pollen from the male stamens to the female pistins. when the female flower has been pollinated, it produces a small red berry containing one seed
Growth Rate & Stages
About three days after lodging in soil, two small shoots break out, one that will become a root and one that will break the surface. Another six days and it has a 4 mm coil above ground. Six or seven days later, it unfurls. Two weeks later, it matures, producing a flower. It will either be male or female, and produce it’s flower accordingly. Once the female flower is pollinated, it will produce a small red berry containing the seed. The berry typically takes 6 days to develop.
Ecology and Habitats
this species is often planted for ground cover, because its roots hold the top soil. Its berries are also edible to some other species, which aids in its spread.
Dietary Needs and Habits
photosynthesis, does best in very sunny areas, but can also grow with some shade
Biological Cycle
during very cold months, the surface parts of the plant wither and die, but they will resprout once the ground thaws
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
the berries are used for food by some species
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
moves slightly to follow N'Zembe over the course of the day
Lifespan
2 years
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
the shoots and leaves are green, the flowers that grow are purple, and the berry it develops is red, the roots are white/colorless
