Draiviknala Salve

This mixture was created during an experiment to find treatments for trevik, a highly contagious rash that produces boils if untreated. It is a rather slimy, stinky ointment that is applied to the affected body parts and alleviates itchiness, swelling of the boils, and off-coloredness of the skin. It is most effective during the early stages of trevik, but with regular application for a longer time, it is effective against the later stages.

Utility

It can help with rashes and boils in general, but the specific combination is for trevik which has both. It is poisonous if ingested by most species. It is important to keep it out of reach of children or pets. It has been used as poison a few times, but it is uncommon.

Manufacturing

It is typically produced in small batches by local apothecaries when the need arises. It contains fresh ingredients that will spoil, so it has to be made within a few days of use. It can last longer if it is kept cold, but that is often not possible.
Inventor(s)
Silar Ojit and Reigash Urlak worked together to invent the salve.
Access & Availability
It is readily available in the region it was discovered in. The instructions for creating Draiviknala was widely circulated through the area. Two of the key ingredients, however, are only found in that region, making it much harder for the ointment to be made elsewhere on Arshilkrin. It's still possible, but it is much more expensive.
Complexity
The complexity is in the number of ingredients required, and getting precise measurements. Combining them correctly is easy, and can be done with a mortar and pestle.
Discovery
A community was afflicted with trevik, nearly everyone had caught it. The apothecary, Silar Ojit, who also had trevik, kept trying to create an effective remedy. They sent word to the next town over to ask for help, and that apothecary, Reigash Urlak, came to help find a treatment. It took many tries and a lot of experimentation to find what worked, but they found it.
