Tambyr
Tambyr are the humans of the Tuldune region. They reside near the rivers and underground to survive the harsh heat of the dessert sun. Tambyr are Titan worshipers with technology that differs significantly from the rest of the world. Magic is an integral part of Tambyr society. In particularly they favor the use of necromancy and evocation as they reflect the values of Tuldune people.
Tambyr carry themselves, tall with dark skin, golden eyes, and smooth black hair. Their long standing use of magic has attributed to high metabolisms, accompanied slightly shorter life spans by about 5-10 years. As a result death is a spiritual focus of Tambyr politics. Culture and cultural heritage
Tambyr are human descendants of those who followed the titans in the ancient days. Their culture mirrors their perception of the afterlife in many ways. Their identities forged by battling the harsh environment to survive.
Shared customary codes and values
The Tambyr operate on a system where individuals are assigned a colored ranking at birth. This indicated the number of reincarnation cycles one has gone through and thusly how they are distributed into society. The Pharaoh and nobility at the top (Golds), Priests and magic users (Whites), Soldiers (Blues), Workers (Reds), and Merchents (Purples).
Average technological level
Bronze age Egypt. While their neighbors have achieved an Iron age, the harsh climate and magic dependency has limited their ability to be technologically creative. That said they have achieved great feats in architecture difficult for their level of technology.
Common Etiquette rules
Tambyr are taught to respect those who have died, and to trust in the ways of magic. Spiritualism and superstition play key roles in social behavior. Many Tambyr will treat rumors with immediate truth when backed up by the supernatural. With that in mind family and the hierarchy within comes first.
Common Dress code
Tambyr dress in the color of your cast at least prominently. Their clothes is frequently light thanks to the heat. While the sun shines on their faces Tambyr culturally conceal the face while in the sun, though this is also for practical purposes. Tambyr are otherwise fairly creative with respect to appearance finding ways to turn their practical and protective clothing into colorful works of art. Hair dye and body paints are employed both for aesthetic reasons, and to keep the body cool in the desert sun.
Art & Architecture
Many works and monuments to the afterlife. This includes massive pyramids and deep sprawling catacombs. The nature of their desert life style forces settlements to remain river locked. Tambyr use a lot of stone in their construction either building around preexisting structures or carrying bricks for miles.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
Upon birth a priest will perform a ceremony to determine the child's reincarnation cycle. They are then set on course of the new life style. If a child is designated as a priest, or noble they are wicked away from their parents to be raised within the "proper" circles.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Extensive rituals for the dead embalming them inside of vast tombs. On occasion an individual may sign away their right to become a lesser undead in service to the pharaoh. Or an individual may be lucky enough to achieve sentient undeath.
Common Taboos
- Wearing a color from a different reincarnation.
- Disputing your assigned path.
- Disrespecting a dead family member.
