Consula Democrata

The Consula Democrata is the ruling body of the democratic republic of Antivassos. The Consula consists of at least three representatives from each of Antivassos's seven major regions: Teleddros, Kheleboros, Hastatos, Daskhos, Orei, Brigas, and the West Coast.   In addition, the Consula is presided over by the President, who primarily keeps track of daily affairs of the Consula and records its minutes.   Each Consular (Representative) is also assigned two Secretaries in order to help manage the workload of writing, editing, reading, interpreting, and researching legislative documents that shape the legal landscape of Antivassos.   Votes on matters brought before the Consula by the President are distributed as follows:   President - 0 votes
Consular - 4 votes
Senator - 2 votes
Minister - 1 vote
In the event of a deadlock caused by the absence or abstainance of a Consular, the President is given a single vote to break the tie.   Each region of Antivassos may only have 1 Consular and up to 3 Senators, but any number of Ministers, usually chosen from smaller villages, towns, and settlements, so long as the total number of votes able to be cast by representatives from that region does not exceed 21.   At the moment, the breakdown of the Consula is as follows:
Teleddros: 1 Consular, 3 Senators, 1 Minister (11 total votes)
Kheleboros: 1 Consular, 3 Senators, 1 Minister (11 total votes)
Hastatos: 1 Consular, 3 Senators, 11 Ministers (21 total votes)
Daskhos: 1 Consular, 1 Senator, 9 Ministers (14 total votes)
Orei: 1 Consular, 2 Senators, 3 Ministers (11 total votes)
Brigas: 1 Consular, 3 Senators, 4 Ministers (14 total votes)
West Coast: 1 Consular, 1 Senator, 3 Ministers (9 total votes)

There are currently a total of 91 votes that can be cast, not counting the President's single tiebreaker vote.   "Of course being a Consular comes with its privileges. We were chosen by the people to hold this office, were we not? So a tariff goes unpaid, perhaps an import sanction is ignored, who are we hurting? The job is stressful, we deserve to unwind with a glass of Khaffalur-wine if we so choose. And if someone has a problem with that, then they should get themself elected Consular and do something about it."
