Born Beyond The Weave
While being born beyond the weave is not a true illness, the mages of modern times fall into two groups about it. Children of the weave are dangerous and should be "prevented" and the other party position sits in polar opposite to the other, that the children of the weave should be protected and taught how to master magic.
Children born beyond the weave are few and far between rising, based on current estimates, once every 1000 years. this number is believed to have been higher in ancient times with estimates getting as high as 1 every 20 years.
