Effect

A sphere of sapping, necromatic energy ripples out from the caster and extends for a 60-foot radius. Although there is a chance to resist this wave, those struck by the spell will often feel the leeching drain of necromatic power upon their body and soul, able to injure, scar, and oftentimes, kill.

Side/Secondary Effects

Those struck by the wave summoned in circle of death will sometimes see the appearance of strange sigils linked with necromancy and death, as well as the leaching of black into and around the eyes.
On top of this, those both surviving and killed by circle of death will experience symptoms upon being hit such as weight loss, a feeling of permeating coldness, and hearing shrieking near their ears.

The powder of a crushed black pearl worth at least 500 gp

• Somatic: Press arcane focus between hands and recite vocal incantation.
