Ice Knife

Effect

The caster creates a shard of ice in their hand. This ice shard can be held and wielded at risk to the caster but is more commonly thrown towards a target. Upon impact, the shard of ice will explode. As the spell is cast at higher levels, the knife will get colder and colder upon contact.

Side/Secondary Effects

Damage sustained by an ice knife is particularly dangerous, as any cut made by the knife will immediately be exposed to frost damage and make it much harder for the wound to heal on its own. This makes it particularly easy for the skin around these wounds and the wound itself to sustain further damage and for the wound to scar.

Manifestation

As the hand is drawn back to cast the spell, the ice knife will form suddenly in the hand along with a gust of cold air.
