Chi'ra

Chi'ra is a title given to Chi'at who have proven themselves as warriors in the Chi'ra'dam Trials. All those who finish the trials are awarded the title. Chi'ra serve as Chi'dal's first line of defense in battle.

Qualifications

A Chi'at looking to become a Chi'ra must go through the Chi'ra'dam Trials, which are held in Chi'dal's capital, Kai'ri, every year. There are seven trials, and participants are eliminated each round. Anyone who successfully completes all seven trials is awarded the title.

Requirements

The title is only awarded to Chi'at, and no foreigners are allowed to participate in the Trials. The Trials are only open to Chi'at between the ages of 16 and 24, and thus these are the only years of a person's life that the title can be awarded. Those who are given the title will retain it for the rest of their lives.

Duties

Chi'ra are obliged to protect their village and its citizens from any threats, both outside and inside. Chi'ra will also be called upon if they are needed in battle. When Chi'dal is at war, the Chi'ra serve as the army. There is often a higher amount of new Chi'ra during wars, as all Chi'at are required to at least attempt the trials during these times in order to boost their forces.

Benefits

All Chi'ra are entitled to a stipend provided by their Chieftain. They are also guaranteed housing for themselves and any family they may have or will have. Citizens are obligated to treat the Chi'ra with respect, and listen to their orders.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Chi'ra's title will be removed if it is agreed that they are abusing their power. In this case, the former Chi'ra will also be banished from the homeland.
