Cult of the Golden Prince

The Cult of the Golden Prince is a vast multitude of organizations who worship the demonic god Saggon. It has no single leader, as it has spontaneously formed across the world numerous times. Rather, it is a highly localized cult   The worship of Saggon is one of exchange in all aspects. Whether loyalty, wealth, or their souls, few are taught his ways without payment. Without offerings, worshipping the Golden Prince serves little purpose - but those who give offerings to the god and his devout may find themselves blessed with good luck in business ventures, or the protection of their soul after their death.

Structure

Saggon's cult is spread across a vast network of regional cells, each operating with little knowledge of other cells. Because of this, local leadership varies, but many have adopted a few common rules.   Members identities are generally kept secret except to a cell's leader, who reports to an even higher ranked member above themselves. Cells tend to stay small for the safety of their members, with the largest only numbering a hundred in a major city. In exceedingly wealthy cities, several cells may spring into being at once.   There are few rules on how different cells should interact with one another, but most hold amicable ties as long as it remains useful.

Priesthood

All initiated members of a group of Saggonites are considered priests. The uninitiated are considered followers of the Golden Prince's teachings, and more generally all those who are not making larger decisions. Followers are initiated at the direction of priests of a cell, which is quite frequently a means to further power for a priest or, more rarely, the cell as a whole.   Priests of Saggon are generally ranked by the most wealthy or powerful individuals. This can take many different forms, and the priests are technically voted upon - though true to Mammon's teaching, anything goes in these kinds of votes, including blackmail, bribery, and all other sorts of treachery.   Once ranks are determined, priests wear metallic masks to both hide their identity as well as denote their ranking. Golden, silver, and copper masks are fairly common, along with cloaks with blood red sashes.
