Nazunth the Black

"Bite your tongue, mortal! Nazunth is no god, they are a dragon!" - Naydrat, The Quiet, on divinity

Divine Domains

Nazunth, the Black is a god associated with dragons, massive size, and absent power. They are venerated by dragons as the first dragon, and have been worshipped by mortals as a god for millennia. It is said that they were kind and benevolent, but long ago left for solitude in a plane of their own creation. There are many conflicting stories as to what caused them to leave, but the consensus among most dragonkin is that it was an act of great wisdom.

Tenets of Faith

Worshipers of Nazunth most frequently pray to the massive god in hopes that they will return to the mortal plane. The seriousness of worshipers varies, with most knowing the near hopelessness of their own cause. Some pray to other gods as well, in hopes that perhaps they will be able to summon the dragon god.   Dragonkin venerate Nazunth, but do not worship them as a god in the same way mortals do. As the first dragon, they are seen as both an equal and an elder to be respected. Some dragons adorn their bodies with streaks of black or teal paint and sigils of Nazunth before battle - those immune to it will often lace the paint with poison.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Ancient stories of Nazunth speak of their staggering, impossible size. Their teal eyes are said to be nearly the size of a house themselves, and a body covered in black scales that stretches into the clouds. Their cobra hooded head is strangely shaped, and appears fractured - which can be a point of great pride among hydras.   Nazunth is said to breath a teal colored flame of incredible heat.
