History

Selkies are magical creatures closely resembling seals that are able to take on a human appearance by shedding their skin. They are said to reside primarily in the oceans around Northern Aisoa, where they generally live away from humanoid populations.
Most selkies are wary of interacting with humanoids, knowing that they may become trapped in their humanoid form if their seal-skin is taken, lost, or destroyed. Nonetheless, most are quite benevolent and stories of sailors being rescued by selkies are common fare in northern fishing towns.
