Sokolan
Geographical Distribution
Sokolan was a language primarily spoken by the people of Sokol, but with the destruction of the country and the majority of its people, the language is much rarer in modern times.
The survivors of the cataclysm settled largely in the nearby nation of Strossenberg, whose population contained some Sokolan speakers thanks to the trade between the two nations. Even then, few had full fluency in the complex language.
Sokolan caravans are one of the few bastions of the language, with most families continuing the teach the language to their children and speaking it daily.
Outside of Strossenberg and the Sokolan Caravans, Sokolan was primarily studied by arcane researchers, and has largely become a historical antiquity rather than something that is still spoken.
Morphology
Sokolan is a language with a vast vocabulary mostly requiring memorization rather than intuition. Complex concepts can sometimes be encapsulated in a single word - especially in regards to arcane topics where complex topics and reference others in their definitions and explanations. Those fluent in the language insist this allows for incredibly fast reading of familiar topics, but new learners often find themselves pulling out a new textbook just to understand each new sentence.
Syntax
The sokolan sentence structure and syntax is fairly straightforward with a set of simple grammatical rules that have no exceptions in their usages.
