Greenwood Forest
The Greenwood Forest is a place of life and growth. It is the place where Vitaria, Empire God of Life spent most of her time when she could walk the mortal plane, and as sutch the forest has been imbued with her magical essence. The name of the forest comes from the thick green moss that covers the tree trunks and branches in it. It is inhabited by normal woodland creatures, as well as some species which only live in this forest, and a few tribes of Firbolgs who reside in the forest and tend to Vitarias groves deep inside it.
Geography
The forest covers a large area and contains within it 3 ancient groves of Vitaria, Empire God of Life . The groves hold within them each one ancient tree, all of them being old from the time of the Golden Age of Magic. These 3 groves are tended by the 3 Firbolg tribes which live in the forest, all protected from any who seek to harm them by Vitaria, Empire God of Life 's aid. The forest to any traveler of good intentions appears beautiful and full of fruits he can eat and game to hunt. To anyone with bad intentions however, the forest itself tries to confuse them and make them get lost, branches trip them, fruits become sour and the fauna becomes much more hostile.
Fauna & Flora
Fauna Unique to this forest:
Firbolgs
The firbolgs inhabiting the forest are split into 3 tribes, which are named after the names of the Trees inhabiting the groves they are tending. The Geed'ah tribe, the Sarneiros tribe and the Waeberos tribe.Squirrelbear:
A small creature that has the head, the fur and the tail of a squirrel, but the heavy build and claws of a bear. It climbs trees to get food (fruit) and its a bit faster than you expect it to be. Squirrelbears are curious creatures that won't shy away from people and tend to make great friends.Qips
While a bit rare, qips are the most adorable creature in this forest. They resemble small, round, sugar coloured balls that have no fur, but glistening smooth, soft, velvet textureless skin. They shy away from all creatures alike, and they strictly eat Greenwood moss, which is also why they're only found in greenwood forest. They have round beady eyes and a small slit for a mouth. They don't have ears, but they have some sort of magical sense of their surroundings the nature of which is known only to the firbolgs of the forest. Both their eyes and their mouths almost disappear from view when closed. They move around by closing their eyes and mouths and rolling using their round body and they can stick on most surfaces. When a qip is threatened, it secretes a potent toxin that paralyzes any creature that touches it for 1 round. They eat by sticking on trees, opening their mouths and rolling upward/downward, effectively cleaning trees of greenwood moss.Terrorbird:
A 3 meter tall flightless bird with long legs, small wings and a very sharp beak. The terrorbird is a solitary hunter who stalks its prey in the forest and uses bursts of speed to quickly catch its prey, piercing it with the tip of its beak and knocking it down, before it goes for the kill. It uses its muscular legs to pin down small prey or larger prey that it has knocked over and then kills them by biting at their throat with its beak. The terrorbird's colour pattern is dark green on its body, and grey at its head and legs.Flora Unique to this forest:
Vitaria's eye:
A deep blue fruit similar in shape to pomegranates but with a soft flesh, which emanates a soft glow. When consumed this fruit will give the one who ate it surreal visions of incomprehensible things. Some people of the firbolg tribes have dedicated their lives to understanding what the fruit shows, consuming it almost every day and taking note of their visions, while most people just try it once or twice for fun.Natural Resources
