Lyenne

The small town of Lyenne is located 2 days to the South-West of Rivershore. It is built around and to the east of a hill, and to the west of the Red Woods, allowing the baron to look down on the town and the forest. The baron himself belongs to a long line of nobles, and is named Phillip Lyenne. Being a small town near a Kobold - infested forest its only real purpose in the larger Empire is to serve as a rest and resupply point for people coming to Rivershore from the rest of the Hamonnet Duchy. As a result, there are only three notable landmarks in the town. It also means that the town receives enough money from taxes on traders travelling to Rivershore, so the people don't need to work as hard as in other places, leading to a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Landmarks:

The Dragon's Head Inn:

This inn has been the central point of interest in Lyenne for generations. It is a large building with 3 floors, which include the small stables, bar and large dining area, kitchen, cellar and the innkeeps room in the first floor. The second floor is mostly taken up by guest rooms, but also includes a rec room with a small book collection and a bathroom. The third floor is the smallest one and contains the office, private room, vault and attic. The current owner, the fourth generation, is a dwarf named Hafath Golderthane, and the innkeep he employs a one-eyed Minotaur veteran named Zamdor, who proudly displays his Empire Permit on the wall behind him.
For extraordinary services to the Empire, and going above and beyond the call of duty to its gods and people, I, Inquisitor Iacovo Estather, by the power bestowed upon me by the gods, give the Minotaur holder of this permit with the right to live and work within the Empire and all its subsidiary organizations.
Other than him, working in the tavern are a dozen servants, five cooks, two dancers (one male one female) and a bard, all of which are residents of the town. The place gets its name from the 10ft by 5ft dragon skull that decorates the dining area.

The Barons Manor:

The manor of baron is a large three story building which looks much nicer on the inside than the outside. Inside the manor are golden chandeliers and candleholders, beautiful paintings on the walls and artisanal silverware. The baron himself, being in his early seventies, spends most of his time inside, drinking expensive wines and whiskeys. He does not take any interest in his subjects lives, and only talks with guards who give him the taxes and the owner of the Dragons Head inn. As a result, the inn is the place where most of the people go to have town halls and try to solve their problems, and some individuals within the populous have risen up to do specific tasks such as tax collecting and defense organization, as well as farming and animal herd planning. The only person the lord interacts with daily is his personal servant, Replaiah. Some rumors say that the barons isolation is a result of him being sad and alone after his wife died and his son left for Rivershore, where he spends the family fortune on drinks and women. However, as taxing trade often goes, there is plenty of gold to go around, and the tax code rarely is followed to the letter, why give 200 gold to the duke when you can give 100 gold to the baron.
The baron is, not very well, he is a lonely and bitter man, betrayed by his son and lost his wife. He could be cruel and evil, but he prefers to stay home all day and drink. In this town we respect that, and we don't like to annoy him.

The Well:

The people of the town need food and water, food they can grow, but water is more difficult to come by, seeing that the local streams go through the Red Forest. The well of the town therefore is a critical resource that the people depend on to survive without risking going in the forest when the kobold populations are on the rise. However, lately the water has become a bit bitter, and many townsfolk have begun whispering rumors that the gods are displeased with them, and they are trying to find out who is the one who displeased them. The two prevailing theories are that their displeasure was caused by either the thief who stole the trollkins amulet, or the rumors about Alicia's unfaithfulness to her husband Victor are true, and they need to drive her off the village. For the former, only the hunter Gunther could know, as he was a guard at the time, but he says he saw nothing. The latter, is only known by Alicia herself, and her possible lover.
