Owcestrado, The City of Pits
As you approach the city, you see the impressive, for Valbrunei at least, walls that surround it. Thick fog presses up against them, as if trying to find a way inside. The dirt road ends at a set of sturdy iron gates with a pair of shadowy figures manning the walls above them. Planted on the ground flanking the road outside the gates are pikes with animal heads, mainly wolves, impaled on them. The city itself is tightly packed with houses that desperately need maintenance. Most streets feel cramped, and claustrophobic, as the walls surround you, and people walk uncomfortably close to one-another, in the crowded streets. The only notable landmarks are four large pits on the outer perimeter of the city, the large Colosseum at its center, and the stone castle that is home to the burgomaster. The fights at the pits are daily, and they take the role of public entertainment for the most part. Once every two weeks however, the Colosseum opens its doors to the public to watch a spectacular event of beasts, skilled warriors and slaves fighting to the death.
