Yeenoghu, Demon Lord of Savagery
The Beast of Butchery, Yeenoghu is the Demon Lord of Savagery. He is usually depicted as a huge gnoll-like monster in the middle of a battlefield, wielding his three headed flail. Those who know of him know him as a savage and brutal beast, who cares only for the carnage he and his followers cause, the devouring of intelligent creatures is his goal, as far as anyone knows. It is therefore assumed that Yeenoghu should be the weakest of the Demon Lords, as he does not possess the intelligence or cunning to create cults that can hide in normal society. However, he makes up for that through his dedicated followers, the Gnolls and the Hyenas. As very few mortals are willing to subject themselves to Yeenoghu's corruption, it is usually done forcefully by channeling a demon through an artifact to consume the soul of the wielder.
The Beast has only one command for his followers, to butcher and feast on intelligent creatures, and while it seems straightforward to deal with, his followers tend to be the most persistent in a region. When a gnoll warband takes hold in an area it is very hard to eradicate, as even when all gnolls are dead, they always tend to resurface (see the Cult of Yeenoghu for more details). His corruption is therefore the simplest to deal with, but by far not the easiest, as it requires heavy presence of military and church assets.
During the Calamity, Yeenoghu was solely interested in rampaging northwards (it is assumed he entered through the initial gateway in Neherath ) he then carved a path northwards joined by his favored demons, and letting through his gnolls and heyenas, which remain on the material plane to this day, disrupting and threatening positions through the empire. Legends tell that he was banished to the Abyss by a vanguard of paladins and clerics, headed by a Solar of Vitaria, Empire Goddess of Life.
