Dreams, nightmares and realisation
Dreams and Nightmares permeate the world of Kaechaek and streak across the land, causing tears, damage and pain at all turns.
This is best seen by the various spaces in the land that are dominated by particularly nightmares and fears and are regularly used as a battleground between the Quori and the Nocta Mori. However, the energy of these dreams are carried across the land, on the wind and in every nutrient and mineral. Like a cancer that can spread no further.
This strange sensation has led to what people describe as 'realisation' in which a person's recurring dreams or nightmares can take form and change the world on a physical, emotional and magical level. The process of realisation is what led the people of Kaechaek to become Godless and to train themselves to never dream, no matter the circumstances from a young age. Realisation can take many forms such as an overswelling emotion in an area, a unique and treacherous landscape or, most commonly, horrifying and powerful monsters.
This process is also what first led to the creation of The Venator, a group devoted to destroying recurring dreamers as quickly and fully as possible. Though their real strength was in killing the realisations of dreams or nightmares if killing the source was not enough.
The Venator were seen as a necessary evil in Kaechaek for quelling dreams and it was seen as a deep honour and symbol of strength to be accepted into their ranks. However, when The Discarded and her heartless monstrosities rampaged across Namarie and Thornden stole several gods to become the chained lands, the Venator were killed and so The Spooks organisation arrived in their place to continue to quell the threat.
However, even after the Venator's return, the increasing amount of cultures and barony's with their own nations values have led to restricted movement for the Venator and has exponentially increased the amount of Realisations taking place across Kaechaek.
