Fionn Tadhg
Oh the fall from grace. Destined for greatness and instead he chose mundanity... truly a sad waste of a prodigious talent.
- Spook Killian reflects on Fionn's exceptionally early retirement from The Spooks order.
You have always been a hero Fionn... you've always been a fatherFionn Tadhg is a reinstated member of the Spooks order who left his retirement to continue his work again and has begun to travel with The Kaechaek Party, acting as a father figure and voice of reason for them in even the most extreme and adverse situations.
- Fionn's dream walks into the final tunnel at his side.
Fionn is a rather large and heavy set spook. Unique with this body type as many spooks take on lithe and acrobatic figures... though Fionn attributes his larger size, strength and 'heft' to his years working as a blacksmith, he is slightly older than the majority of the party and has often had NPC's remark on him looking like 'much' of a spook due to him looking decidedly less grizzled and war torn. Fionn is also surprisingly unscarred for a spook... a testament to his skill during his training.
The party know relatively little about Fionn's past. Only that he is a recently 'unretired' spook who is a little rusty and regularly trains to a level of obsession in the hope of finding his 'edge' again. Fionn has shown a clear distrust of spellcasters during his time with the party but has also got an exceptionally high level of empathy and desire to help others; shown through his treatment of Peregrine and Mallus despite him acknowledging that a pragmatic spook would have locked them in a pit by now. Fionn has also embraced the strange habit of carrying thumb bones on his person... a tool used by The Unwaking Coven...
All in all, Fionn has proven to be a stoic, strong and capable member of the party.
Fionn's journey came to an end with The Kaechaek Party in The Wheel when he used a Heroic Risk to activate a high level ability and allowed the party to escape Light Bearer Signill ... though this risk claimed Fionn's life in the end and the party were unable to bring him back to life as he was ushered into the final tunnel by his deceased wife.
