Vallean (Race)

The fair haired and soft featured people of Vallea are born with an innate link to divination. Through this they have become some of the finest diviners throughout Namarie as well as some of the most potent spellcasters despite not being a land of combat or exploration. 
Vallean's are somewhat seen with amusement for their anti-arcane sentiments as there has only been one recorded wizard in the lands history of note and they still struggle to turn out mages despite their natural innate talents. 
Vallean's view the rest of Namarie in a very distant fashion, they don't trouble themselves with the wider world and often take a neutral stance in confllicts and debate that don't directly involve them. The people themselves are seen as strange exceptions if they explore Namarie as adventurers unless they are a part of the Adem.

Naming Traditions

Family names

The people of Vallea tend to take Title's very seriously and so rely on that whilst also having it display an aspect of their personality's. 
Due to this there is only one family with the Last Name Vallea and using that name as a pseudonym carries a penalty of death.

Culture and cultural heritage

Vallea is a space of former war that was united by the Vallean royal family and so represents much of their culture of a divided land and the idea of no space being perfect.
There is still inner-country tensions in Vallea between Goliaths/dragonborns and the other races due to former slavery and massacres of them during the Vallean wars as well as various cultural insenstivity's (such as categorising goliaths and dragonborns as 'brutes' and thinking its okay). 
Vallea also, strangely, attribute much of their growth and protection to the nearby Ademre people and the bloodbarony's as well as building an alliance with the tiny island... it is widely believed they haven't absorbed Ademre under their banner because the losses on the Vallean side would be too large such is the difference in quality between their country's warriors.

Average technological level

Vallean's are technologically skilled and specialise in Tempo Setters by fusing their divine magics to the items.

Common Etiquette rules

Valleans are generally a neat people and pride themselves on their politeness and kindness... often making them deeply flexible in other cultures and making Vallean diplomats highly valued.

Art & Architecture

Vallean art is often a flowing and well-expressed piece filled with vibrant colours particularly using purple shades in the piece to denote a noble vibe to it. 
In terms of architecture Valleans use warm vibes and often have reliant and 'rustic vibe' homes.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Vallean religious practises are carried out at midday when the sun is at its highest point in the sky as the divination aspects of them allow them to trace the stars at midday (claiming it gives them a sight beyond sight). They also worship different primary gods to Thornden with some similarities (such as open worship of Bane with the acknowledgement of the gods faults and pairing the god with Freyja).
Vallea have a day of the 'True Eye' when the sun doesn't set for 24 hours in the country and they see this day as a time of tranquility, focus and study that they observe no matter where they are in the world.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Vallean's believe in tree burials and returning the body back to nature to fuel their ancestors sight.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Vallean's see unmarked beauty as beauty fully. They don't go in for rugged and scarred appearances and often wear layers to cover themselves for this reason... this comes from less a sense of vanity and more a sense of safety. If someone is scar-covered and ruggedly handsome then they may be an adventurous bedfellow for a span or two but they don't represent a safe or reliable romantic partner.  This plays into Vallean's view of an ugly world in Namarie. 
In terms of fashion Namarie (being a southern space) goes for thin material and light wavy fashion items. You're more likely to see kimono's and light clothing than you are to see cloaks and woven commoners clothes.

Gender Ideals

Vallea conforms to the standard two gender ideal and see anything else as 'odd' and oten attribute that mindset to Changelings and genderless beings such as the newly discovered warforged.

Courtship Ideals

See courtship as a free thing and advise 'shopping around' and romancing to find the right person. 
Due to this relationships change often for the standard Vallean commoner it has also led to some other countries in Namarie viewing Vallea in a deeply sexualised manner (some of the highest paid escorts are Valleans due to the popular belief they are the most skilled lovers in Namarie).
