Dursaedhe's Hammer

The known weapon of a powerful god, this warhammer belongs to Dursaedhe, the chief and most potent of the sylphen deities. Originally issued to her during her mortal life as her weapon of choice, she bore it as Captain of the Guard to the dynasty that once ruled their country. After the fall of the old capital and the erasure of that line by the goblin invasion, Dursaedhe has since wielded it as a beacon of hope and strength to her people. As much as the hammer can be a force of destruction with which to crush their foes, it is also a symbol of industry and rebuilding.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

As is typical with custom-made sylphen weapons, Dursaedhe's hammer was forged with the woman herself in mind. Weighted appropriately for her strength, training, and size, this warhammer was intended for one wielder, and one wielder alone. While it is not impossible for another to have used it while she was mortal, these considerations would make it difficult to fight with effectively for anyone else. Now, given her divine rank and abilities, the sheer weight of it would prevent a mortal from even picking it up.

Significance

This item is perhaps the single most recognizable symbol of the Sadromi people, both inside and outside the country. It was Dursaedhe who led the sylphs after the fall of their original capitol, organizing the other leaders who would one day Ascend alongside her to form the sylphen pantheon. Her hammer became a symbol not only of their war against the goblins, but also her later church, and its use is now associated with them across Namkural. As far as they are concerned, there could be no greater cultural symbol or more important artifact. Particularly since it is the weapon she used to fight the goblin god, Kitomwell, the loss of it to any other deity or power would be a significant cultural blow to the sylphs.

Raw materials & Components
Though it was not poured and cast as a single piece of quasiglass, Dursaedhe's hammer is constructed solely from this material. The head was forged first, later being fused with the haft of the weapon and the spiked cap on the end of the handle. The head and spike themselves are the traditional transparent, dark grey material quasiglass is known for: but in some lights, the color takes on a slightly blueish tint like steel, resulting from the regional variation of ore from where it was made. The haft itself is wrapped in textured black leather to facilitate a better grip.
