Magic Absorption Bombs

In their imperialistic invasion to conquer Namkural, the orcs and the parasites inhabiting them had to develop new technologies to fight the powerfully magical denizens of the plane. Since they used little magic beyond the portals that brought them to the surface of Namkural in the first place, they eventually developed a series of tools and weapons that could warp, nullify, or otherwise disrupt the use of magic. The most deadly and terrifying of these were the magic absorption bombs that they deployed against the denizens of Yerenth where they first made landfall on the world.   Given that Namkural is a plane inundated with magic, its essence exists in all living things. These orc-made weapons were far more terrifying than those that simply created a null-magic zone within in area. Rather than negating its effects, the so-called "absorption bombs" did just that -- sucked in all the magical energy within a given radius and destroyed it. To have that natural force simply removed from an area was enough to outright kill, if not destroy, everything in its path. Even individuals who did not practice magic themselves were still killed by the effect, so long as they had been born within Namkural's system. The orc chassis, as piloted by the parasites that had enslaved them, were unaffected by the initial detonation of such bombs. However, even they had to be wary of the unintended aftershocks created by magic from elsewhere in the plane "rushing" to fill the empty space like liquid or gas pooling in an area of lower pressure. These implosions were often just as devastating as the temporary no magic zone.   Since the end of the Sidhen-Orcish Wars and the extinction of the orcs themselves, this technology has been lost. No denizen of Namkural in their right mind would seek to make such a thing -- and any who may have tried in the ensuing millenia have been met with disastrous, typically fatal, failure. In truth, the technology is simply impossible to make upon the plane, due to the nature of the forces there and how the bombs were originally constructed.

I especially like the mental image you have created here of magic rushing in to fill the void.
